Dr Hyman’s Whole Food Protein Smoothie

Start your mornings with this deliciously fruity smoothie. Packed full with nutrient-rich ingredients, introducing this recipe into your daily routine is one of the easiest (and tastiest!) ways to boost your health. Give it a try!


  • 75g frozen blueberries
  • 50g frozen cranberries
  • 1/4 organic lemon with rin
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon hempseed
  • 2 raw walnuts
  • 2 raw brazil nuts
  • 1/4 avocado
  • 1/2 tablespoon extra virgin coconut oil
  • 120ml unsweetened almond or hemp mild
  • 120 ml filtered water


Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until smooth. You can also whiz all the ingredients in a wide-necked Mason jar using a handheld blender and drink the shake right from the jar. Be sure to add enough water so that the smoothie is drinkable but still thick.

Note: To activate the enzymes in the seeds and nuts in any smoothies recipe for easier digestion, you can soak them ahead of time. Fill a bowl with enough water to cover the seeds or nuts and soak for at least 30 minutes preferably overnight if the permits
